Jaap ter Linden, one of the world's most celebrated baroque cellists, will tour Japan this month with a performance of the complete set of Cello Suites by J.S. Bach. Ter Linden has recorded the Suites twice, for Harmonia Mundi USA in 1996, and in 2006 for Brilliant Classics; both recordings have earned great acclaim.

The concerts are also part of the programme 'Nederland in Japan 2008-2009', celebrating the 150th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and the Netherlands in 2008, and commemorating the 400 years of commercial relations which date back to 1609.
