May 2004

Several years ago Dominique Visse shocked the Utrecht Early Music Festival, singing a programme “Vous avez dit: musique ancienne...”, a recital comprising french music from Guillaume de Machaut up to Gilbert Bécaud, with songs by Offenbach, Massenet, Satie and Poulenc.

From 11 to 16 May, Dominique Visse and his Ensemble Clément Janequin de Paris will
tour the Netherlands again. The Ensemble is famous for its virtuosic interpretations of vocal music from the middle ages and renaissance, especially french music. On their dutch tour, the Janequins will perform the programme 'Les Cris de Paris, chansons parisienne'. This includes music from their namesake Clément Janequin and contemporaries like Claude de Sermizy and Francesco de Milano.
